Prolock - Technical Information

Wheels are secured by means of the clamping force imposed by wheel nuts when tightened to the recommended torque setting.

BUT, wheels do come off. This may be due to poor condition of components, incorrect fitting procedures, technician error or just lack of proper maintenance. However, even when these factors are ruled out, for some reason clamping force can still be lost resulting in wheel detachment.

That’s when the problems start. Wheel detachment has to be reported; investigation will follow; costs will escalate. That’s on top of the immediate issues of recovery, disruption to schedule and vehicle down time.

Prolock solves the problem. Even when clamping force is lost, properly fitted Prolocks will prevent the wheel nuts coming off. The wheel stays on and the worst problems are avoided.
